MEET
Chris Parry
Originally from England, now residing in Pretoria, South Africa. Chris Parry is bringing back the old blues with a contemporary feel with his band: The Blues Experience.
Chris Parry, originally from the South Coast of England, now residing in Pretoria, South Africa started his guitar journey at the age of 5 or 6 (he’s a bit hazy about the actual age!) It all started as everyone does with a 3/4 size nylon string acoustic. He quickly moved to a Hohner steel string.
His Grandfather bought him his first electric guitar at the age of 12 and he’s never looked back.
He has played in a number of different bands throughout the years some covers bands and some originals.
He is currently working with a Drummer and Bassist in The Blues Experience Band, working with Ultimate Rock Productions as a theatre guitarist in a variety of different shows and working on new material to begin his first solo record.
Inspiration
Chris is a British Blues Rock guitarist, who plays a range of old to contemporary blues and blues rock music. From BB King, Buddy Guy, Son House through to Eric Clapton, Rory Gallagher and Joe Bonamassa with a bit of David Gilmour thrown in too!
Born and raised on the South Coast of England on a healthy diet of British blues-rock, both American and British folk, blues and rock music, and anything else he could get his hands on, guitarist and singer Chris Parry has an eclectic take on Blues/Rock.
“The blues is in everything I do, whether that is with the guys in the band, performing in the theatre shows and writing my originals. The genre’s I’m playing may change but I would always feel that I’d have one foot on the path in retaining the blues feel in my playing, even if it’s just for me!”
